Gymnanthes Lucida: Shiny Oysterwood Gymnanthes Lucida is a species of floweirng plant in the spurge family native to Southern Florica, the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central America. It can grow to heights of 30 ft, and is often used as an accent tree or shrub in landscaping. Gymnanthes Lucida contains a toxic, milky sap that can cause dermatitis and skin inflammation- the smoke from the burning wood is also known to cause eye irritation.
